Created with support from Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture, this logo embodies our mission to restore and care for wetland ecosystems interwoven with loko iʻa cultural heritage here in Keaukaha, Hilo, Hawaiʻi.
Lokowaka Pond is ranked Priority #11 statewide—and #1 for Hawaiʻi Island in the Pacific Birds Strategic Plan for Hawaiʻi Wetlands 2024. This recognition highlights the significance of our site and the vital role of community-led stewardship in protecting Hawaiʻi’s native wetlands and species.
