2026: Makahiki Kuleana Kahakai

2026 has been declared the Year of Our Coastal Kuleana (Makahiki Kuleana Kahakai). Launched on January 9 by Governor Josh Green, this statewide campaign invites communities across Hawaiʻi to honor our shared responsibility to care for the coastlines where land, sea, and people meet. As we enter our sixth year of restoration work at Lokowaka, we are grateful to be part of this collective effort to mālama our coastal environments for generations to come.
